Leading the way in beauty tech due to an open research environment and passion for the beauty experience
Let’s face it, most sunscreens out there (particularly western ones) have the consistency of mayonnaise and leave you smelling like a fake coconut and sticking to everything you touch.
In 2021, there is absolutely no reason that this should be the everyday sun protection experience.
We should not have to coat our body and faces in a thick gloop of foul smelling swimming pool gunk in order to not get pigmentation spots from the sun.
Thankfully, those of us to live in Asia have more variety to choose from.
Specifically, we have access to Korean sunscreen formulas- now recognized as some of the best in the world.
Lightweight, effective against both UVB and UVA (not just UVB like western formulas), fragrance-free, and non streaky… we are truly blessed.
If you need a reference, just take a look at what US dermatologist Dr. Ko had to say on Korean formulations:
In countries like South Korea, that approval process is much quicker. These newer innovative sunscreen formulas improve on issues older formulas have, like “photostability, a larger molecular size to reduce skin penetration and a broader absorption spectrum — especially into UVA.” In the US, the main chemicals that protect against UVA are avobenzone, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
